Radical support for multigraded ideals

Abstract Can one tell if an ideal is radical just by looking at the degrees of generators? In general, this hopeless. However, there are special collections in multigraded polynomial rings, with property that any generated elements those radical. We call such a collection support. paper, we give combinatorial characterization supports. Our terms properties cycles associated labelled graph. also show notion support closely related to Cartwright-Sturmfels ideals. fact, generators whose multidegrees form ideal. Conversely,

A parallel Buchberger algorithm for multigraded ideals
We demonstrate a method to parallelize the computation of a Gröbner basis for a homogenous ideal in a multigraded polynomial ring. Our method uses anti-chains in the lattice N to separate mutually independent S-polynomials for reduction.
متن کاملCones and Asymptotic Invariants of Multigraded Systems of Ideals
Recent work has discovered perhaps unexpectedly rich structures for base loci and asymptotic invariants on the cone of big divisors of smooth complex projective varieties. One may ask what sorts of cones and functions can occur. In general this question is not currently well-understood. However, a key feature of this work (implicit in [7] and explicit in [3]) is that the structures depend on al...
متن کاملRadical of $cdot$-ideals in $PMV$-algebras
In this paper, we introduce the notion of the radical of a $PMV$-algebra $A$ and we charactrize radical $A$ via elements of $A$. Also, we introduce the notion of the radical of a $cdot$-ideal in $PMV$-algebras. Several characterizations of this radical is given. We define the notion of a semimaximal $cdot$-ideal in a $PMV$-algebra. Finally we show that $A/I$ has no nilpotent elemen...
متن کاملUniversal characteristic decomposition of radical differential ideals
We call a differential ideal universally characterizable, if it is characterizable w.r.t. any ranking on partial derivatives. We propose a factorization-free algorithm that represents a radical differential ideal as a finite intersection of universally characterizable ideals. The algorithm also constructs a universal characteristic set for each universally characterizable component, i.e., a fin...

This paper is a survey on major results on Hilbert functions of multigraded algebras and mixed multiplicities of ideals, including their applications to the computation of Milnor numbers of complex analytic hypersurfaces with isolated singularity, multiplicities of blowup algebras and mixed volumes of polytopes.
